ABOUT ME

I am Tuba Kars, a Communication and Design graduate from Bilkent University, focusing on animation, motion design, and visual storytelling. From an early age, I have been fascinated by how imagined worlds—especially in animation—can evoke real emotions. This fascination continues to drive my interest in character-driven storytelling, where motion, design, and narrative come together to create meaning.

I am currently working at a mobile game studio, contributing to visual and video production for game-related content. Through this experience, I actively produce gameplay-based videos, motion-driven visuals, and design assets, strengthening my skills in editing, timing, visual clarity, and creative problem-solving within a fast-paced production environment. While this role is rooted in game production, it strongly supports my growth as an animation- and motion-focused visual creator.

Alongside my professional work, I develop personal and narrative-driven animation projects. My 2D short animation film Branches of Me, created as my graduation project, is a deeply personal story inspired by my cat and explores themes of attachment, loss, and emotional growth through visual metaphor. This project represents my passion for storytelling and my desire to create emotionally resonant animated worlds that connect personal experiences with universal feelings.

In addition to animation, I have a strong background in filmmaking and cinematography.

 

My education and project experience have allowed me to work across shooting, editing, and directing short-form visual pieces, giving me an analytical yet intuitive approach to visual storytelling. I value composition, camera language, rhythm, and visual structure as essential tools for creating meaning—not only by showing, but by designing emotion through visuals.

I believe communication and collaboration are at the core of creative production. Working within teams, engaging in creative initiatives, and participating in collaborative projects have shaped me into a team-oriented creator who values openness, shared ideas, and collective growth.
